Some Surprising Symptoms Of UTI
Urinary Tract Infection or UTI can cause some subtle signs that you shouldn’t overlook. The main cause of UTI is a bacterial attack on our bladder. When you feel some symptoms of a UTI, you just have to seek treatment for this infection.

Sexual health expert Steven Lamm said, “Obvious signs of a UTI are pain and burning when you urinate, caused by persisting inflammatory processes in the lower urinary tract.” Another researcher Kamm said, “Women are at higher risk for UTIs than men because women have shorter urethras, which lessens the distance bacteria must travel to reach the bladder, while many UTI symptoms will be obvious, some symptoms may be more subtle.”
Females are more prone to UTIs compared to males. According to the Urology Care Foundation report, 60 percent of women will suffer from a UTI during their lifetime. Here we are presenting some major symptoms of UTI that you should know.

Unusual urge to urinate
You may not feel the urge to urinate all the time. But you will feel uncomfortable and it may seem to you that the bladder is not fully empty. This happens due to weakness in the bladder or swelling of the urethra. Lamm warned, “UTIs can result in serious health problems if not properly treated. If you have the inkling, you have a UTI, consult your physician right away.”
Bad smelling urine
You will find strange-smelling urine. Urine that smells fishy must be an indication of infection. Lamm said, “A strong or strange odor from your urine may also be a sign [of an infection]. This odor is typically from the bacteria present in the urinary tract.”

Fever
This symptom is associated with any type of infection. You may experience flu-like symptoms. When there is an inflammation in the bladder, you may feel pain in the area. Lamm explained, “This can cause permanent damage to kidney function and may increase the risk of kidney failure.”
